Where can I see my current tax liability?
You can track taxes owed for the current quarter or tax period under the Home tab.
Your accrued federal, state and local (if applicable) taxes are displayed under Taxes. These amounts include both the taxes you owe as an employer and the taxes that were withheld from your employee’s pay.
Note: As an employer, you will be paying your employee's tax liability as well. This is because you have been withholding it from their paychecks each pay period. Poppins does not hold onto your employee's withholdings for you.
Note: The taxes owed are calculated to include closed, processing, and open payroll.
Where can I see a breakdown of taxes owed?
You can find more information about how your taxes were calculated by following these steps:
- Click on Taxes.
- Click View next to either Federal Taxes or State and Local Taxes.
- Click the drop-down menu to view the desired quarter. From this page, you are able to see a breakdown of the taxes owed for the quarter you selected.
You'll notice that there are columns for the tax type, where it's an employee or employer tax, and the total amount due. We will withdraw the total amount due.
Note: Federal and state unemployment tax is an employer tax only in most states. This will not display on your employee's paystub as a tax amount. New Jersey also has an employee unemployment tax.
